On February 26, Mr. Strukelj, Director of Volkswagen Academy (Germany), led a delegation to visit Volkswagen College of Hefei University(HFU). Wang Xiaofeng, Vice President of HFU and Dean of Volkswagen College, met with the guests. The two parties held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation and industry-education collaboration.
During the meeting, Wang Xiaofeng said, HFU’s Volkswagen College is a prime example of the internationalized “dual-system” higher education model, employing a “multi-scenario, multi-stage, multi-objective” training approach to seamlessly integrate theory with practice, thereby enhancing students’ innovative and practical capabilities; as an industry-oriented innovative college of HFU, Volkswagen College plays a vital role in cultivating high-quality applied talents for the automotive sector, which will further deepen educational reforms and strengthen the industry-education-research integration, aiming to produce innovative talents for the future mobility industry.
Lou Yi, Senior Director of Learning & Development Center and Culture & HR Communication Department at Volkswagen Group China, introduced Volkswagen College’s enterprise-driven curriculum design, aiming to enable students to master cutting-edge technologies and practical skills, and helping them adapt more effectively to the rapidly changing industry environment.
The delegation visited the E-Motion Room of New-energy Vehicles, the Lean Training Center, and the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry-Education Integration Practical Training Center on campus. Afterwards, they interacted with students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts, who actively and enthusiastically shared their learning experiences and insights with a keen desire to engage in the future of the mobility industry.
Highly impressed by the students’ vitality and their aspirations for the industry, Mr. Strukelj fully affirmed the practical teaching achievements of Volkswagen College. He expressed hopes for a deeper cooperation between two sides in talent development and technological innovation in the future, jointly promoting friendship and exchanges between China and Germany.
